If any of these have happened, your vehicle is already at risk
Repossession does not arrive out of nowhere. It follows a legal process — and every step of that process is a point where it can still be stopped.

- A section 129 letter of demand from the bank
- A call warning that your vehicle will be “collected”
- One or two instalments already missed
- A tracing agent or attorney phoning you
- A summons or court date in your name
- Paying every month while the balance stays the same
A bank cannot simply take a financed vehicle. It needs a section 129 notice, a court order and a warrant. Until then, you still have room to act.

Seven quick questions about your figures. No documents, no credit enquiry, no obligation — and nothing is shared with your creditors.

What is the total of everything you owe?
A rough figure is enough. Most people guess low, so choose the higher band.
Good to know: Even large balances can be restructured into one lower monthly amount.

10,5 million South Africans are behind on their accounts right now — that is more than one in three people with credit.
Falling behind is not a character flaw. Interest rates, retrenchments and rising fuel prices did this to households across the country. The people who keep their cars are simply the ones who asked what their options were.
Source: National Credit Regulator, Credit Bureau Monitor (June 2025) — 10,54 million consumers with impaired records (36,05% of credit-active consumers).
Losing the car is not just losing a car
It is how you get to work, how the children get to school, and how the money keeps coming in. That is why this is worth one honest conversation.
Your salary lands and within two days it belongs to accounts you are barely keeping alive. The vehicle instalment is the one you cannot afford to miss, so something else gets missed instead.
You have run the same numbers in your head for months and they have never once come out right.
You have read the reviews of companies like ours. Half say it saved a family. The other half say people paid for a year and their debt grew. You do not know which half to believe — and that caution is not irrational. It is the last thing you have left to protect.
So Keep My Car works backwards from that suspicion. You see the written breakdown before the signature. You hear the consequences before the sales part. And if this is the wrong solution for your situation, you are told so on the first call.
What you are carrying right now
- Calls from numbers you have stopped answering
- A salary that is spoken for before it clears
- Checking the driveway before you go to bed
- Paying every month and owing the same amount
- Fees nobody ever wrote down for you
- A partner who does not know the real figure
You have carried it long enough on your own. The first step is one honest conversation, and nothing more.

Picture the first month your car is safe and your salary is still yours
Most people do not want to be debt-free one day. They want to breathe next month. This is what changes once a plan is active.
Your keys stay in your hand
The instalment is reworked to something your income can carry, so the car in your driveway keeps taking you to work.
Your phone stops being a threat
Collection calls and SMSes route to your specialist instead of you. You can answer an unknown number again.
One debit order, one date
No more deciding which account gets paid this month. One amount leaves, and it is shared out for you.
Money left for the basics
Groceries, school transport, electricity and petrol come first, because the plan is built around what you actually earn.
Sleep without the 3am arithmetic
The numbers sit in a document handled by someone whose job it is to manage them, not in your head at night.
A finish line you can see
A dated end point instead of an amount that never moves, with written confirmation once accounts are settled.
Nobody at your work, in your family or in your street is told anything.
Your enquiry is confidential and handled by one specialist. No employer letters, no home visits, no announcements. You decide who you tell, and when.

One operating rule: nobody signs before they see where every rand goes.
One named specialist takes your file at the first call and keeps it until your written confirmation. No handovers, no rotating agents, no discoveries after the ink dries.
That structure exists because the industry too often did the opposite: fees buried until after commitment, warm agents who went cold after the sale, clients paying faithfully while their balances climbed.
Our registration is current and verifiable before you speak to anybody, and every fee is disclosed in writing before a document is signed.

Three steps before anything is committed to

Find out exactly where you stand
You send your details and a specialist phones you, usually within one working day. This is a conversation, not an application. Nothing reaches a creditor and nothing gets signed.

See where every rand would go
You get a written month-by-month breakdown: the fees, the amount reaching each account, the new vehicle instalment, the timeline, and the consequences most companies only mention after sign-up.

Start with both eyes open
If the route suits you and you choose to proceed, the application is filed, creditor contact routes through your specialist, and one instalment replaces the pile.

Once a warrant is granted, the car is gone
This is not a closing tactic — it is how the legal process works. While you are deciding, the bank's attorneys are moving to the next step.
- Balances keep growing through interest, penalties and legal costs
- A repossessed vehicle is auctioned, and you still owe the shortfall
- Legal protection cannot be backdated — it starts when you file
The situation does not sit still while you wait for a better month.

Your written repayment breakdown, before you commit to anything

Where your finance agreement actually sits in the legal process, and which step the bank must still follow.
A realistic restructured instalment
Built from your income, expenses and arrears. A grounded number, not a percentage borrowed from an advert.

Exactly how much of your monthly amount is fees and how much lands on your accounts. Before you decide, not after.
The uncomfortable parts, plainly
What happens to your credit profile, how long the road runs, and what changes if your circumstances change.
The name of the person on your file
One registered specialist, reachable directly, from the first call through to your last payment.
What your legal protection covers
When it starts, what creditors may and may not do once it is active, and what keeps it in place.

The things you would want answered first
Can they really take my car?
A creditor may not simply arrive and take a financed vehicle. They must follow the National Credit Act: a section 129 notice first, then a court order and a warrant of attachment. Every one of those steps is a point where a legal repayment plan can be put in place instead — but only while the process is still running.
Do I keep driving my car while this is happening?
In most restructured plans the vehicle stays with you and the instalment is reworked to something your income can carry. Your specialist confirms this against your actual finance agreement before you commit to anything.
What does this cost me?
The assessment and the written breakdown cost nothing. If you proceed, the fees are the ones regulated for this process, and every rand of them appears on your breakdown before you sign.
I have already received a letter of demand. Am I too late?
Usually not, but timing decides how much room is left. Once a judgment or a warrant of attachment is granted, some options close permanently. Bring the letter to the call so your specialist can read it before advising you.
How long does the process run?
It depends on what you owe and what your income can carry. Most restructured plans run between 36 and 60 months. Your specialist gives you your own timeline, in writing, on the first call.
What if I go through the assessment and say no?
Then nothing happens. No application is filed, no account is touched, and you keep the written breakdown. You are allowed to walk away with the information.
